I just discovered that my lil guinea pig Tiger is dead when i went to say goodnight to him. I'm not sure where to put him as theres no where I can dig a whole in my property. I have an issue with touching him aswell as I'm 5 months pregnant and not sure what he died of..and really am a bit of a wuss and cry everytime I look at him. My partner gets home from sea in 2 days, will he be okay in his cage until then or will he start to decompose/lose his fluids already? Please help, i'm really lost!

  1. if you are worried honey then put on some rubber gloves and bury your pet in your garden, you could leave tiger until your partner gets back but he will start to decompose and that will pose a risk to you and your baby, if you wash your hands after wards it will pose no risk to you or your unborn baby, i think leaving tiger where he is will only upset you more than if you bury him, sorry for your loss honey

  2. Leaving the guinea pig is not good because it will smell and flys will get at it and more chance of harming you baby.

To dispose of the corpse i would get some rubber gloves and pick up your dead guine apig with help from an object of some kind and place in a carboard box then seal this up.

You can get it cremated at a vet or find an area in your garden and bury it.

Alway wash your hands when disposing of the guinea pig.

  3. get a neighbour to do it. hang in there :)

  4. I'm a wuss to, don't worry your not the only one! anyways mine are in the freezer and they have been for the past year! i don't have the guts to bury them. take a show box and put tissue paper in the bottom of it. them take your guinea pig (with rubber gloves) and put it in the box. cover it up with more tissue paper. put it in the freezer till your partner gets home, then you can have it buried. this sounds cruel, but if you don't want him to smell put him in the freezer!
