How to distinguish rise and increase ?

why use "is rising' without "is increasing" in : "The pupolation of the world ......... very fast "

  2. Rise is = get up, move upwards, reach higher value, increase in value or price etc.

    Increase is = make or become greater in number or size, growth, enlargement etc.

    So the best way to express " The population of the World is INCREASING very fast"
