Question:

How to do IVF with my husband's ED?

My husband suffers from ED(he gets treatment). But we really want a baby very soon. We never got pregnant so we just want to go straight to in vitro. No other "trying".

Would the doctor help us even my husband suffers from ED?

We just want to have a baby. The ED will work out funally and we don't want to wait anymore.

Thank you!

  1. I do not know of an R.E. that will not help in this situation. Doctors have ways of getting sperm out even when the man has troubles with erections. They can even do surgeries to cut out a tiny piece of tubing from the testicles that carries sperm. It is more costly, but probably worth it.

If he has good sperm samples when he does his sperm analysis, then IUI's and ICI's may be an option for you as well. And, it is MUCH cheaper!

  2. You can choose to either use donated sperm or your husband could go through a procedure where they insert a needle and withdrawl sperm from his testicles.  I have watched it done on a special on tv before but I am not sure how much that would cost and if all fertility Dr's can and will do it or not. Worth asking about though if you don't want to wait or go with a donation.

  3. Of course they can help you. The ability to have s*x and the quality of your s*x lfie with your husband has nothing to do with making a baby if you do IVF.  If your husband is unable to fill the vial with his s***n, then the RE can "harvest" your husband's s***n while he is under sedation using a surgical technique.  I don't  think the ED will be an issue with IVF.

Just make really sure that you want to make babies with this ED situation -- and committ to this life with him if the s*x life isn't satisfying now and may very well never be....  Are you OK with it and do you want to stay with him if it stays like this forever?

In the desire to have a baby it is easy to overlook something like this, but when you are dealing with an entire lifetime of an unsatisfying s*x life, it can get depressing.  Anyway, that's just my two cents!

  4. As long as your hubby can produce the goods, the doc won't care if he has ED ... or are you saying he can't produce, so you need to doc to take it from him in a medical way?
