  1. I should imagine with the greatest of difficulty if you have no one with you.

  2. Ok, I understand that the expense at the salon is out of control.  I did that for a long time.  So if it isn't an option, I understand.  I decided to go with laser hair removal after having done it at home for a while, so I will give you some pointers, but it is very hard to do yourself, depending on how much you get rid of, which for me was everything.

I went to Sally Beauty Supply when all of the GiGi wax products were on sale.  (Sally Hansen is cheap, but it works cheaply too--it pulled my skin off!)

I would buy the warmer for sure, a pot of wax, some of the wooden application sticks, the muslin cloth strips in both large and small sizes.  The Brazillian hard wax is probably best.  Also buy some of the oil based remover--dont' forget it, because it is important.

Don't forget to trim everything first, to about 1/4 inch.  Use baby powder on the whole area so the wax doesn't stick too much to your skin and pull it off.

Be patient, this will take a long time.  Try not to do areas too big, because it will be hard to pull off.  Once you get wax stuck on you it is very painful and messy and impossible to get off.  This will be especially bad near the sensitive parts.  Until you get used to waxing, I would stay away from those parts, or even do it on another day.  Be sure to put down a plastic liner on the floor where you are going to work.  The wax gets everywhere and is very hard to clean off.  I would use the plastic they give you over your garments at the dry cleaner...then you're recycling too!

Anyway, you might want to consider trimming with an electric trimmer.  You can get really close to the skin without slicing off the hair like a razor does.  Then, if you loofa the area with soap and water in the shower, you don't get the same itching as with shaving.

  3. Look at what direction your hairs are growing. You apply the wax on in that direction. When you pull it off, its vital that you pull it off in the OPPOSITE direction of the hair growth.

  4. You should let your husband or boyfriend do it for you.
