  2. You know, it kinda depends on the person.  Different people have different mistakes, y'know?  I would definitely talk to your dance teachers, as she/he can see exactly what you need to practice to have a better pirouette.

    Just some general things, though:

-Make sure you plie when you prep.

    -Pull up.

    -Keep everything tucked and tight.

    -Spot!

Something that also helps me personally is to put more of your weight in like...towards your big toe not your pinky toe. [I don't know if that makes sense to you or not...]

And here's one way that I use to practice my technique while I do pirouettes:

    1. Get a chair.

    2. With one hand, hold on to the back of the chair.

    3. Act as if I just pulled up into a pirouette. (Make sure your foot is at your knee, your arm is rounded and in front of you, etc.)

    4. Go up on releve still with one hand holding the chair. When you think you have your balance, let go.

-I really hope this helps you! And I hope it's not too much to take in lol. But definitely just keep practicing and ask your teacher for help!

but make sure you have a good prep feet apart, back heel off the ground, front foot all the on the ground, your weight in the center of your feet, center your balance, don't twist your body or your arms, and when your ready push up onto relivea, straight knees and bring your arms together like your hugging a tree and spot your head.

at first practice a good prep and push up like your going to turn. but don't turn and hold you balance as long as you can with out falling.

make sure you bring your back leg all the up so your foot is against your other knee.

  4. This helped me TREMENDOUSLY.

    Its all in the preperation.

    1. Have a stong plie. Both heels on the floor. Feel that power ready to go.

    2. Pull your tummy and butt muscles right in. Feel yoursefl pulling up. There is a string in your head pulling you up up up. Pull in that tummy and butt. Feel that centre.

    3. Make sure your arms are strong. One in front, and in second. Strong!

    4. Turn. Pull those arms in. Make sure you spot. This will get you around - the spot! Still feel that centre in you.

5 Land gracefully. No point doing a great pirouette and landing rubbish. It will take a little time to know how much power to put into a single, and then a double, and then a triple. Each time requires more power, and more spot.

    Hope i helped!

  5. they are very hard, i have been working on pirouettes for 7 years now and i can finally do 6 if i'm lucky but they take soo much work, ask your teacher for help because she'll be able to tell you exactly what your doing wrong when she watches you.
