How to do a tick on a checklist that has to be e-mailed back?

Insert - Symbol - Wingdings - it's in the bottom RH corner

if you don't use Microsoft, just type in "Y" in place of the tick.

if the list is in the body of an email, click reply then typing in your ticks or Ys. if it's an attachment, save the file, type in the ticks, then attach the newly saved file to your reply email.

What about a forward slash i.e. / or a Y. There is no "Insert" tab in an email.
