  1. Practice in an empty parking lot.

  2. Ok, it's hard to tell you without being there, but as a former instructor...I will try.

First you must decide to back in and not be afraid of it.  That is so important.  If you have mirrors or both sides...use them.  Also, pull up in front of the place you want and make sure you are straight...if at all possible.  If not, then do so very slowly and keep your eyes on the other vehicles or whatever around you.  Just take it slow and back in.  If  you have to pull up a dozen times or so...so what.. you are better off doing it very slowly than just whipping it in there and hitting something.  Remember to keep some space between you and anything else there....I would suggest taking a couple of rubber maid type trash cans and putting them in an empty parking lot (like a business that is closed over the weekend).  Practice between those.  Good Luck

  3. Look out for a suitable parking space.

Check your side mirrors and look in front of you and behind before you start reversing.

Look out for other vehicles approaching or pedestrians crossing the road or parking space.

Begin to reverse when it is safe.

Reverse until the front of your car is just about at either the rear or front bumper of the car next to you.

    Straighten up your steering wheel.

You may need to go backwards and forwards a couple of times until you are a reasonable distance from the car in front and any other cars behind you.

Apply the handbrake, put the gear into neutral or park and turn off the engine..................................

  4. You should have learned this in the bumber cars at the fair.

  5. With one hand on the wheel, look out your back window and pretend it's the front window. Then just drive, turning the wheel in the direction you want the back end to go. Practice in an empty parking lot until you get the feel of it.

  6. Don't do this in down town new york where it is busy go somewhere that is not really busy................

I pull the car up and then start the back in WOW hardly ever have to do that anymore, with all the parking garages

  7. Practice makes perfect...

  8. Go slowly and watch where you are going !

  9. BEST TIP OF THE DAY...Try not to hit other cars...and probably best to pay for a driving lesson and not ask for help on here.

  10. I usually find parking places where I can pull up front-then I do not have to back out-I can just go forward.

  11. Although it takes a lot of practice, you need to learn how to use, and rely on, your rearview mirrors. Don't say it's impossible; when was the last time you saw a semi driver backing up to a loading dock by looking out the rear window?

The empty parking lot technique is good; if you can find some traffic cones, put one at the end of each line, and one in the middle of the cross line.
