  1. Well, it's out of 2400, so it's an alright score.

I got something a little similar, but I did not study at ALL.

Your classes next year should help you prepare for somoe parts of the SAT. There is an SAT in January, January, May, and June (those are the most common months to take it in).

Most schools also provide a practice preparation course. If your school offers it, take advantage of it.

Book stores also provide practice books for the SATs at pretty decent prices. Look in stores, they have some for certain subjects, as well.

This site helped me with vocabulary practice! Here you go!

You should do a whole lot better next time :). Good luck!

  2. Don't worry! I took the PSATs my sophomore year and did terribly as well. 1490 is a terrible score, if you want the truth. The good news is, your score will increase soooo much by the time you take the PSATs as a junior! Do the collegeboard.com's question of the day because it really helps. Also, if you can, get a tutor for the critical reading/writing sections. Books can help if you have the motivation to read them. 1490 is like getting a 500 on each section... just think of it that way.

  3. it is not a good score, honestly.

but it's okay since your still a sophomore or your on your way to become a junior

so you can use this chance and try to memorize as many vocabularies as you can and try to aim higher

remember that the national average is 1500!

    at least get over that!
