  1. I love meat...YUM.

  2. I actually like to fry it in some sesame oil.   Go to a Chinese takeout and order some fried tofu with vegetables;  you'll see how they do it.   I think it gets soaked first.

Its hard to work with but once you learn how to do it, it comes out great.  I'm still learning.

  3. I personally like to fry it, with some spicy seasoning, then put in salads or curries, etc. as a meat replacement.  Not the healthiest option, but useful if your craving a taste of the old animal carcass.

    Which I confess i do.  A lot.

  4. O.K.

I'm a chef at Japanese restaurant. Our recipe for tofu is: you should cut the tofu for peaces (cubs)  and deep to corn starch all the sides but be careful, because it breaks easily. After you have to deep fry the tofu peaces for about 6 to 7 minutes at 350F, then it will take a light brown color. Then time for the souse, for that you have to about medium cup of tempura souse (you can find it at any Asian market or at any big stores) put on pan and make it boil, while it boils you have to mix corn starch with some water and pour on boiling water, don't make it too thick, pour on top of ready tofu put some scallions on top and ENJOY the food ;), any questions let me know.

  5. With a fork

  6. cut tofu into cubes. slice up some red and green bell peppers and some onions. heat olive oil in a pan and place veggies until tender. add tofu and heat thoroughly. serve with some toasted baguette.

  7. Check out websites like vegetariantimes.com and vegweb.com

You could also search for other vegetarian websites through google.

  8. tofu by itself is not very tasty. Look up recipes on line that have tofu in them. See what you like and experiment with a few recipes :) Good luck! And cheers to you for go vegetarian!

  9. tofu is SUPER versitile

don't eat it plain, that's not tasty at all

make a stir fry and add chunks of tofu to it, it'll soak up the flavor of the sauce

one of my favorite things to do is melt .5 cup chocolate chips and puree with .5 cup tofu

    it's a protein-tastic chocolate mousse!

  10. cook it in foods. go to peta.com and sign up for the weekly vegan recipe of the week, or get  vegetarian/vegan cook book.

    Good Luck!

    :D

  11. I have a Tofu Cookbook, I think it's called Tofu Cookery, im not 100% sure. It has many Tofu recipes. I made Tofu Loaf (Mock Meat Loaf) it came out fantastic. I also use tofu for breakfast since I do not eat eggs!

  12. tofu is the best if you just make a vegetable stir fry, and then add very small little cubes of tofu into it. if the cubes are too big they might not have much flavor, but in small enough cubes they will soak up all of the juice and sauce from your stir fry (use soy or teriyaki or brown sauce or something in it) and they will taste delicious.

  13. You can eat it with your hands, chopsticks or even a fork. It's up to you. Here are some recipes and other ways to eat tofu! Enjoy!

  14. I couldn't tell you because I don't eat the stuff either LOL

I could never get it right and I the texture puts me off.   From what I understand, if you freeze it, it will take on a different texture but I have not tried it.

  15. Tofu is very bland / flavorless by itself. It absorbs the flavors of the spices and sauces that it's cooked with.

Here's an easy recipe for tofu scramble:

1 box Mori-Nu silken firm tofu

    1/8 tsp. turmeric

    1 tsp. onion powder

    1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 cup of your favorite vegetables. I use red and yellow peppers. You can use broccoli, fresh mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, etc.

First, take the tofu out of the box and wrap it in paper towels.

Press down to get the moisture out.

Put the tofu in a lightly oiled frying pan and mash it up. Cook over medium heat for 3 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients, stir well, and cook for 5 to 8 minutes, until the vegetables are cooked and the tofu is heated through.

    Enjoy!
