How to do it yourself ?

this summer i want to make a desk with my dad. i think that if i make a desk then he will see how easy it was then he will let me redo my room. the desk is Fairly easy (i think) but he doesnt think so. Two things :

any tips and instructions/tools ii might need.

adnd how can i persuade him to make the desk with me?

What the!?! The desk should've came with instructions. How about you build the desk yourself, then maybe he'll let you redo your entire room.

EDIT: It's much cheaper and faster to buy one as opposed to making one from scratch. $25 at Target.
