How to do judo shoulder roll?

we're having grading in a few days, and im pretty confident about everythijng except for the shoulder roll. im perfectly fine doing it on the right side, so that my right foot is forward, and i roll over my right shoulder.

but when it comes to doing the roll on the left side, im much less confident, and because of this, i end up rolling incorectly, like rolling on my side, which really hurts lol!

so any ways to correct this so that my left side roll will be as good as my right?

thanks!!

  1. stand with one foot forward. reach one hand out and start rolling on the back of your hand, to your elbow, then sholder

  2. Left foot forward

    Turn head to right

    Place hands on right side

    Tuck head down

    Roll over left shoulder

land on right side and slap mat with right hand

  3. This is not something that can be explained on this forum. It has to be taught person to person.
