  1. One mistake loads of people make is they tence there muscles because they are trying to keep correct posture and most ballet teachers say you must keep your knees in, so just try and keep them relaxed but pointe your toes.

  2. Breathing through your nose helps, and also come down into a semi deep demi plie, this way you can spring back up, that's always helped me. And, also practice at home to build up your stamina. You can look good in leotards and not be under weight. Gain weight and be toned and fit. ( But if you're underweight & HEALTHY that's fine.) Good Luck!!!

  3. Bungee cord.

  4. BREATHE!  Breathe deeply from your abdomen rather that just down your throat.  If you've been dancing 5 years you should know what I'm talking about.

Do you get winded (out of breath) walking up several flights of stairs or running?  Maybe it's a medical condition.

Don't rule out anything.  Get a check up at the doctors.

    Again, BREATHE DEEPLY!

  5. Firstly, I don't see how your weight has anything to do with this.

Secondly, it is a stamina issue you are having problems with. If you have been dancing for 5 years i would expect you would have good stamina. Stamina comes with alot of practise. If you only take 1 or 2 days of ballet a week, this is probably why you have a low stamina. You will find with any sport (running and swimming mainly) that you will only have short bursts. Excersise more often, and practise those jumps every day. Do 50 sautes in first, 50 in second, and 50 in fifth every day if you want. Increase this as time goes by.

Also, make sure you are eating right. A sugary snack before class is not a good option, as it will give just a short burst of energy. Having something like multi grain bread or a muesli bar will keep you enegrized for longer.

Make sure you drink lots of water during class to keep hydrated.

And, like veryone else has mentioned, breathe. Dont forget to do this while performing the excersises.

  6. build/strengthen your core and leg muscles. also, do cardio so you get less out of breath

  7. Just build up your stamina. Every day do some jumps, adding more every day. Eventually you'll be able to do more and more
