  1. Without a last name you probably won't get to far.

You can look at obituaries at your local library.  They have the newspapers on microfilm.  Ask at the reference desk for help in finding the newspapers you want to look at.

  2. ancestry.com always worked for me.

  3. Begin by using a Yahoo people search with all of the information you have compiled on that person. If nothing shows up then move to online obituary directories in the areas where you think they might have been. Visit deathindexes.com to search through records in every individual state.

    http://people.yahoo.com/

  4. LOOK IN OBITUARIES  ON THE NET THAT MIGHT HELP..MIGHT HELP TO IF U KNEW THE DATE AND WHERE SHE WAS BORN TO..

  5. If she was a kid there won't be much about her on the internet. But if you go to the library and ask for help they can show you things like death indices and newspaper archives from your area that can help you find the information you need. You're going to need to have an idea about when she lived and died, even if you don't know the exact years. You'll also need to have an idea of what part of the state she lived in so that you can get newspaper reports that would have given her story the most coverage.

If you get really stuck, the newspapers in your state have a special department called the Archives. You can call there and ask them to help you start your research. Lots of times they might even remember the story and can send you all sorts of information that didn't even make it into the newspaper stories. Even if your parents don't get the newspapers, both the library and the newspaper company itself will help you get copies of the stories.

  6. The Mormon genealogy website is regarded as the best civilian database in the world.

You don't have to be religious.  Businesses and all manner of individuals use it for research.  This is because they buy up a lot of birth and death registrations, believing living relatives can accept the gospel, by proxy on behalf of dead ones.

Click on it.  You've nothing to use.
