How to do some color on a black and white picture?

Question

how can you make like a black and white pictre with color

for example

i saw on a myspace today

a girl

with a bikini on

the picture was black and whtie but the bikini was in color

how do you do that

If you have windows vista, you can right click on the image and scroll down to "Open With" and then select "Windows Photo Gallery" select "Fix" from the bar of options above the image. Then select "Adjust Color" on the right side of your image, and drag the saturation bar to the left as far as it will go.

Follow this step by step and it should work for you. This is acutally a Photoshop procedure, but it should work the same in GIMP;

First open your photo in GIMP.

Then go to Layer - Duplicate Layer

Click OK

Then go to Image - Adjustments - Hue / Saturation

Drag the Saturation slider all the way to the left to make the photo black and white.

Click OK

Then get the ERASER tool from the tool box on the left side of the screen. It is usually the next tool under the clone stamp tool. Just hover your mouse over the tool, and it will say Eraser.

When you have selected the Eraser, go up to the Brush options box at the top of the screen, and click on the downfacing arrow. Set the Hardness of the brush to 100% so you will have accurate control of selection. You may also need to raise or lower the brush size to suit.

Erase away any black and white from where you want the color to be revealed.

When done go to

Layer - Flatten Image

Then just do a Save As to wherever you want to save the photo.

then go to Google, type in Picasa and download it.

its a program to help you edit your images.

i'm almost sure that your able to do things like that with it.

ou can make BW photos with color in them using these free online image editors:

Make the photo black and white. Repaint over items you in color with color filter.

Create a dupe layer Convert to black and white. Erase the parts you want in color.

FotoFlexer

Duplicate the layer and change it to grayscale Erase items you want to be in color in the BW layer, so that the color shows through.
