Given that 0° £ x £ 180°, find the possible value(s) of x if sin x = 0.707

I'm stumped on this one. Probably because I have no clue what this is. If this is a bearings question, someone help me out please.

  1. I think the (English Currency Symbol) is intended to be

    either < or <= (less than or less than-or-equal to).

    0.707 is an approximation for our old friend sqrt(2)/2

    So in the range 0 through 180°, the value of the sin function

    being equal to sqrt(2)/2 happens twice:

    at 45° and 135°.

  2. I am assuming the problem is asking to find the values of sinx on the interval 0<x<180.  sinx= .707 is 45 degrees or pi/4.  This would mean that it is also equal to 3pi/4  on the interval 0<x<180.

  3. I assume you mean 0° <= 180°.

    sin x = 1/sqrt 2 for x = 45 degrees and 135 degrees.
