Your PC needs to have a duplex capable audio card.  And, your microphone and speakers, or a USB headset with microphone need to be set as the audio device to use.

you would not get the option if if the person u are chatting with does not have the required version for voice chatting or is logged in through internet explorer.

if you both have valid version for voice chatting there shouldnt be a problem.
