  1. get it rolling at a slow pace (5 mph)

grab clutch, give a handfull of throttle, lean back and dump clutch...

  2. I will add to what a previous poster said... get the bike rolling, take ONE FINGER and pull the clutch, so that you still have 3 fingers and a thumb holding the grip....pull the clutch in..tach the bike up a bit, and kind of clutch the front end up.

DO NOT reach up with all four fingers and grab the clutch, then dump it...you are going to end up on your back watching your bike roll down the road without you. Or you will jerk the handlebars sideways with the one hand that is holding the throttle.

I have a YZF1000R, I pretty much just throttle the bike up in the air. You may be able to power wheelie depending on how "normal" your bike is. Power wheelie is putting the bike in first gear, running the rpm's up to a little over mid range, getting out of the the throttle so the front shocks depress..and then get the bounce from them while hammering back on the throttle and the bike will come right up.

Your bike may not be capable of a wheelie...some bikes just won't do it, they are too long on the frame with the motor foward putting weight on the front end and not enough torque. I can ride a wheelie on my YZF1000R for as long as you want me to ride one...however, best I can do on My Brothers Shadow spirit 750 is about a 2 inch clutch popper

Depending on what your "normal" street bike is...it just may not do one.

  3. PUT RIDING GEAR ON WITH HELMET YOU WILL DUMP YOUR BIKE A FEW TIME'S BEFORE YOU GET THE HANG OF IT! IT ALL IN THE THROTTLE&THE CLUTCH.HERE WE GO,ROLLING START FIRST GEAR PULL THE CLUCH REV TOO RPM THAT YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH POP THE CLUTCH AND KEEP YOUR THROTTLE AT A SMOOTH CONTROL AND YOU CAN RIDE ON YOUR BACK TIRE ALL DAY LONG HANG ON OR LET IT GO IS ALL UP TOO YOU GOOD LUCK DO IT ON SOFT GROUND "IT MIGHT NOT HURT AS BAD IF YOU DUMP YOUR BIKE"YOU OR THE BIKE.

  4. You learn by doing it....

1.To much throttle and you flip.

2.To little throttle and the bike just go's faster.

    3.Practice is what it takes.

The number two poster on here has a better idea of the "How Too" of poping a wheelie.

It comes from doing and balance.
