  1. two bolts or screws  one limts how high the shifter can go the other how low it can go so there you go just fool around with those until you get it right its not hard

  2. There is normally two little screws that are there to limit the amount of "travel" the cage goes in and out.  Each s***w only governs one movement.  Take my word and only turn ONE s***w 1/4 turn on one direction and then see how that small adjustment effected the cage travel distance.  It will travel either more or less than before.  Observe, observe, observe.  If you need to go back with the original adjustment you now can with precise control.  It's just a simple matter of trial and error at first.  Turn a s***w and see what results. And use the right size screwdriver.   Sometimes it's not the screws that need adjusted but the cable needs to be re-tightened because it may have stretched a little.  You can tell if the cable needs adjusted because when you use the gear control lever you get little response down at the deraileur.  If the gear cable has a lot of slack in it then it is too loose. Try to find someone to help with it, to figure how to make the cable tighter. if I were you.
