well you cant because the psp slim has the infra red port taken out but in some sites there have been people who can use the universial remote with their slim google it maybe you may get some answers

It wont work with the slim PSP. It don't have the hard ware to use it. Sorry. It only works with the fat PSP.

The slim PSP has no infra-red port witch you need to be able to use for the universal remote feature. Only the fat PSP has the port.
