or

how can i stop uploading (not a single bit) when download torrent ?

pls. help me to show the possible path for downloading torrent without uploading.

You can't stop uploading.Set the upload speed to 30kB/s.It will not affect your download speed(IF YOU HAVE 256KB/PS CONNECTION.CHECK YOUR CONNECTION AND SET YOUR UPLOAD SPEED TO 80% OF TOTAL UPLOAD SPEED -http://www.speedtest.net).

we have an isp that counts uploads as well as downloads towards our total monthly cap. I went through about 15 torrent clients experimenting with a bandwidth monitor application to see how low they could be throttled and still download.

There are two noteable clients:

deluge (there's a windows version, but its buggy- linux version is good if you have linux tho)

utorrent

I manage 2% uploads using utorrent. This means for every 100k I download I upload 2k. thats 2meg for every 1gb, which is not too bad.

You can use software like Limewire which says its throttled to 0 uploads, but when you run a bandwidth meter, its still uploading at a rate of about 17k/s

If you cant manage any uploads then you'd be better off getting a rapidshare account.

If you want the utorrent settings I use email me and I will fwd them to you.

Impossible I think. Even with normal downloading, there is still an upload.

You cant. The whole idea of P2P networks is that everyone shares what they have. If there was a way of not uploading, all the selfish people such as yourself would do it, and the P2P networks would collapse, rendering the whole system useless.

But i should warn you.. Your download speed will drastically reduce.. Its kind of a mutual dependence
