How to draw a real looking chocolate lab?

I want to draw like a chocolate lab, or even a bichon frise, but I need step by step directions with pictures along the way.......any websites you guys have for me?

my secret has always been focusing on the acual picture of he thing and drawing it, but if you really needhelp start out with a circle with a muzzle and move on from there :)
