Going tonight and not sure what to wear. I'm going with my husband is it ok for him to wear jeans? Or just normal casual pants? What about what he is wearing to work, suit without the jacket and tie?

What about for women? I don't want to look silly in jeans or something like that.

  1. I went to see Wicked in the apollo victoria and there wasnt really a dress code.. some were smart.. but some were definitly wearing jeans..!

  2. im not trying to sound "snooty" as one would say but your going to the theater dress up a bit! its supposed to be an evening out and your gonna wear jeans and sneakers? cmon!

Have him wear what he would wear to work and you.. wear a nice skirt or casual dress.

Its just not a special treat anymore its.. its supposed to be fun.. an occasion and people treat it like going to the $8.50 movie

Maybe Im old fashioned but nobody dresses up anymore. When ppl are going to a show or even out to dinner stop looking like slobs!

  3. Anything goes! Jeans & trainers or smart suits!

I'd recommend layers though, you never can tell if the auditorium will be too hot or too cold.

Hope you have a great time xx

  4. I remember the times when you dressed up to go to the theatre.  Now you can wear anything.  I think theatres are just glad of the money, because theatre prices in London are extortionate.  On the rare occasions when I can afford to go to the theatre I wear comfortable stuff.  I don't dress up anymore.  If I go to the opera or the ballet I still don't bother dressing up. 'Dressing up' seems to be a real thing of the past.  But then so do good manners.

  5. People dress reasonably smart for the theatre, yeah. I like to go very casual and laugh at the snooty people looking down at me ahah. But smart casual will do :)

  6. smart casual. So no tie necessary, jeans are fine with a shirt.

as for you, just dress office style.
