Yeah, the question sounds weird.Anyway,I just want to know if there are things I need to keep in mind when I drink. For example,I heard it's a bad idea to drink on an empty stomach(I'm guessing it makes you sick).I don't drink a lot but I just want to know these things just in case.

  1. Learn, and become intimate with your limits.

Don't mix liquor with any sort of medications, unless you have had clearance, or know about the drug at hand...especially stay clear from over-the-counter cold/allergy/sinus medications, and anything that might be a central nervous-system depressant...like Benzodiazepines.

Keep yourself hydrated...for every full drink, have 1/2 liter of water.

Take your vitamins afterwards, or a B-complex, because alcohol depletes your body of B-vitamins.

Set and setting: If you've had a bad day, and are in a bad mood, then your experience with liquor could likely reflect that. If you're in a fair mood, it will most likely be an enhancement.

Always try to go for the drinks with the least impurities...the more of them, the worse of a hangover you'll have. If you do get one, there are a dozen remedies for it. I personally like orange juice and seltzer mixed up together, and admittedly, I don't know why. Some people recommend a light drink in the morning to ease the blow. See what works for you.

Culture yourself: drinking is more than gulping down whiskey as fast as possible, or getting "smashed". Learn which foods and meals go well with what, try different mixes, drinks from different countries, different brands, find your favorites. Read up on drinks before you go out, and have some ideas of what you want to try. Learn what specific liquors are made from, and what makes them taste different. For instance, I really like a barley-based vodka when mixed with cranberry and apple juices, but I find that a wheat-based vodka works better with citrus juices. Try different types of ales and brews. Try something exotic...have a capirnha or some warm sake. Try some wine, or some champagne with your supper.

And last but certainly not least -- don't always reach for the top-shelf or bottom-shelf drinks. Don't go by hype, or ads. Experiment. Things are not always what they seem. I have discovered vodkas which are far cleaner-tasting than the usual Smirnoff, Absolut, and Ketel One, for half of the price. And in the same vein, I've discovered that there really isn't a great cheap tequila and it is worth every dollar...

OH, and watch the calories in fru-fru drinks (and a lot of other mixed ones, esp. with milks and creams and endless sugary syrups). You'll get porked up faster than you could ever imagine...I usually stick to one liquor and a mixer for the most bang for buck, reasonable calorie-consumption, and the strongest drink with a pleasant taste.

    Hope this helps.

  2. empty stomach = drunk fast (good if you dont want to spend alot) do not take tylenol will make your liver bleed have lots of water waiting for you the next morning (a glass before you sleep wont hurt either) put your cell phone away drunk dialing is the devil

  3. eat plenty of food to absorb the liquor or it will go straight to ur a$$hole and then u will have to get ur carl lewis on to the bathroom for a violent BM. nothing worse than being drunk with loose bowels. pretty stinky. pretty darn stinky

  4. eat pickles if you wanna drink a lot,i don't know why but it works.that's what i used to do to keep up with my buddies, big guys(lol) and now it doesn't make a difference, drink like a fish. If you are beginner, keep your cell away, don't drive and have aspirin and lots of water before you go to bed(if you will be able to even remember who you are)it's gonna save you the headache in the morning,at least a little bit. That's why ppl get hangovers, dehydration.

Oh and if you don't wanna get sick don't mix drinks, chose what you wanna drink and stick to it. Except wine and beer, you can get smashed easily and won't be sick. Tequila in the beer is good as well.

  5. hm well to help hangovers eat hersheys chocolate..it replenishes the amino acids that have been depleted by the alcohol

  6. Just put it in your mouth and swallow.

  7. The best way to drink alcohol is through your mouth. Using your nose gets boogers in the alcohol...using your butt can be deadly...and your ears are just worthless and uncomfortable.

As far as drinking on an empty stomach or not...that really depends on the drinker. For me it doesn't make a difference. For you you may find you get fewer upset stomachs if you eat before hand. For the record: IT DOES NOTHING TO SLOW DOWN ALCOHOL ABSORPTION.

  8. just mix in strawberry icecream, give it a good stir and down it, not only does it get you drunk faster it tastes better.
