How to drive a PWC/Jet ski onto a trailer after using???

Several years ago I was really good at maneuvering a Jet ski onto a trailer. Recently my husband and I purchased a Jet ski and we haven't gotten the hang of it yet. He backs the trailer into the water and I'm supposed to smoothly drive the Jet ski up on- yet that's not happening. Can someone give me a detailed idea of when exactly to cut the engine, etc. so that we can finally get it right on the first try?

  1. You shouldn't be driving the jetski onto a trailer. The trailer should be under water so the jetski is still pretty much floating. Eventually, if you keep driving onto the trailer, the felt will come off the trailer and your ski will get damaged.

Once the jetski is in place, use the straps, etc in the front/back so it doesn't move much. Slowly, move your vehicle out of the water maybe 10 feet. Now double check every strap, plug in the trailer lights, pull the drain plug.

  2. Just go slow and line it up good. Also make sure the trailer is far enough in the water.
