How to drive cars in UB funkeys speed racer?

My son has racer X and a car but cant seem to work it out?

The car race games were the hardest to get used to!  Does your son have the Speed Racer or the Snake Oiler Funkey (the hardest race game)?  All the car games are controlled the same way. You have to use the directional arrow keys.  Up accelerates, down slows or brakes, and the left and right arrows control which direction you go.

When changing direction, you have to get used to leading by the nose of the car. It's not like other arcade games were you are in the driver seat and turning left will look like a true left.  It unfortunately will take a lot of practice.
