Question:

How to ease the symptoms of eczema?

I have really dry skin all over my body, coupled with eczema in certain places.

It doesn't itch constantly, but often.

The sun helps, but between work and taking care of my household (eating, laundry, etc.) I find that it's hard to get much sun and I can only do this in the winter.

I'm forced to use skin lotion all over my body every time I shower, and I have to use lotion whenever I wash my hands because the soap dries them out.

I'm sick of being dependant on skin lotion!

I try to drink 8 glasses of water everyday and it helps, but only so much.

Any other suggestions of foods I can eat or avoid, or other things I can use to help my condition?

Thank you!

  2. You can go to your doctor to get a prescription, or look for off the counter creams. Theres a cream thats in a little uh circular thing, and its blue *it starts with a P* it works really good. Just ask around at the drug store =]

  3. heredity and genetics play a vital role in passing eczema from one generation to another.  it may appear at some point in your lives especially when the immune system is low.

to avoid eczema flare ups there are lot of things to consider like:

    * keeping fingernails trimmed

    * using an all natural moisturizer throughout the day

    * hydrating the skin by drinking loads of water

    * avoiding foods that are processed and that have preservatives

    * use natural fabrics that are soft

    * avoid tight, rough and scratchy clothes

    * do not sweat it, avoid activities that makes you sweat

    * avoid temperatures that are extremely hot and cold

    * avoid drastic change of weather

    * try not to scratch the infected area

    * watch and check out diet
