How to eat meat again?

Okay, since i've been vegetarian for so long (3 years) , it is hard to think eating meat again, but after hours of thinking it over, i decided that this IS the best thing for me.

--->>> How do i do it? How can i ease myself onto meat without gagging? <<<---

Please don't tell me to keep on being vegetarian, i don't need to be cofused any further,

I haven't got the best parents or friends, and they deffinatly don't understand why i was vegetarian in the first place, so stopping is the only thing to make them, and myself happy.

Please no negativity.

Thankyouuuuuuu. (:

  1. i would just start by eating small amounts of meat and slowly increase your intake of it

  2. start of small, have a small piece of chicken with a lot of other stuff then keep adding more meat into your diet. to be honest meat wont be the same, when i started eating meat again it was really hard and i dont like it as much as i did before i became a vegetarian. just think of it as a piece of food rather then an animal.

    i wish you luck!

and i think your making a good choice

  3. Why do you expect veg*ns to tell you how to eat meat again? That's absurd.

  4. You are asking vegetarians how to go about eating meat again? How do you do it? You just do it I guess. We don't eat meat so asking how to eat it here is not very prudent.

  5. try starting off with steamed fish; then maybe grilled chicken (home made NOT fast food) see how you react to that then if you feel okay, slowly ease into other poultry's then meats and leave pork for last, or just leave pork out altogether. good luck!!

  6. wow. why is eating meat the best thing. meat isn't good for you and why do you live your life trying to make others happy?

  7. Well I'm sorry that the veggie diet didn't work for you. The best way, would be taking gradual steps, as your body has gotten used to not digesting animal fats for such a long period, and you might have some difficulty.

You should start with organic meats, because non-organic ones have chemical additives which again your body is not used to.

You can begin with having it once a week, then twice a week, etc. If you think that, that is too slow for you, then you can moderately increase it.

My parents don't understand the vegetarian diet either ! They curse me, make fun of me, etc. But that hasn't stopped me from continuing my diet. People are always going to make fun of you or disapprove. Being able to take the critique and not let it bother you or your beliefs shows that you have character. If you have tried explaining it to them, -- like I have -- and they still don't get it, then that's their business.

And I am sure that there are many products which all of you consume that they did not know where vegan !

    Lacto-ovo- vegetarian

When most people think of vegetarians, they think of lacto-ovo-vegetarians. People who do not eat beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish or animal flesh of any kind, but do eat eggs and dairy products are lacto-ovo vegetarians (“lacto” comes from the Latin for milk, and “ovo” for egg).

Lacto-vegetarian is used to describe a vegetarian who does not eat eggs, but does eat dairy products.

Ovo-vegetarian refers to people who do not eat meat or dairy products but do eat eggs.

    Vegan

Vegans do not eat meat of any kind and also do not eat eggs, dairy products, or processed foods containing these or other animal-derived ingredients such as gelatin. Many vegans also refrain from eating foods that are made using animal products that may not contain animal products in the finished process, such as sugar and some wines.

Here is a list of some possible options that you can get from the supermarket. These products are vegan and vegetarian:

  8. I know you asked for no negativity, but this upsets me.

You've decided that this is the best thing for YOU! I would have thought a 3 year veggie would be able to see past that.

If you go back on your choice, not only will nobody take you seriously or respect you, you are hurting the message that veggies and vegan try to promote. People will see that you can not stand the diet and therefor believe that they may not be able cope either. These are the people that tell me that the human body cannot live without meat.

If you need to try in order to eat meat...then why eat meat? To fit in???

  9. don't do it to make other people happy... do what you want... most parents and other people don't understand because it's not what they are used to or grew up with... but as long as they see your healthy and happy they will eventually accept it... your not going to be happy if yur eating things that you don't really want too... it's your body don't worry so much about what other people think! they can do what they want with their own bodies....

  10. I would start with fish first and then go to chicken. I'm thinking the same thing.

  11. Start with small portions of baked or roasted meat or a stew or pot pie.

  12. get used to the smell of it first.
