How to eat soy sauce braised chicken eggs?

I have an egg single packed. Do I heat it or can I just eat it like that? I heard it's eaten in Taiwan and in mainland China...

Actually, you can eat it anyway you like. Remember:

1. Eaten room temperature, it's a quick and satisfying snack.

2. Eaten cold, it can be an appetizer.

3. Generally it is eaten with roasts and braised meats, as a side dish with rice. If you eat this with braised pork, it's called "hong ma." (Literally, "red pork," because the soy sauce used gives the pork a mahogany-red tone.)
