How to edit or reduce video?

i recorded a vid on my camera that i want to put on you tube. the problem is it is 7 mins long but i only want to put the first 3 mins on. how can i just take the first 3 minutes? thanks

Edit it with Windows Movie Maker or another video editor.

Connect your camcorder to your computer via firewire, i.Link, IEEE 1394.  Capture your video from your camcorder to your computer using Windows Movie Maker in Windows or iMovie on a Mac.  You can capture just the first 3 minutes, save it, and then upload it to YouTube.  You can also capture the entire video and then use the video editing software to edit the video to the 3 minutes you want for uploading.
