  1. You will have to import the video to your computer. It probably came with some software, but if it didn't you could go on google and find some software for it. Also you could use Windows Movie Maker to import the video....

  2. There  is a whole section devoted to your answer in the MANUAL. It explains it step by step. If you need further assistance try the Sony support site. There are online tutorials, FAQ's, live help, and a manual to download in case you misplaced yours. See the link below>>>>>>>>>

  3. Use a firewire cable to transfer from the camcorder to the computer.

If you don't have a firewire input on your PC, you'll need to obtain a capture card.  You'll need software, such as the aforementioned Windows Movie Maker.  I use Adobe Premiere 6.5...it doesn't output to high definition (I don't think Movie Maker does either).  You'd need Premiere Pro, which is the latest version.  There are other software packages as well, such as Sony Vegas, AVID and Pinnacle.  Everyone has their personal preferences.

Editing is a blast and well worth the learning curve you'll go through.  I'm lusting for the latest version of Premiere myself, having seen my raw footage on my HDTV from my Sony HDR HC-7.  You can see some of what's possible with editing on my YouTube page.  It's not HD though...Good Luck!!!
