  1. windows/system or system32

  2. I would recommend not even trying to get into this file because without it your computer cannot run. On my old computer it mistakenly got deleted and the computer wouldn't fire up, it got to the Windows XP bit then said that the computer couldn't go any faster because it needed that file to fire up.

  3. It is not system32.dll, it is sytem32. Do not mess with it, one incorrect change to a file in there and your whole system may be trashed. Just putting a file of a few weeks difference in age can stop the system.

  4. While in My Computer, go to

Tools, Folder Options, View, and under the Hidden Files tab click the box marked "show hidden files and folders"

  5. Open My Computer

    Select Tools, then Folder Options

    Select the View tab

Select the option to show hidden files and folders

Also deselect the option to hide protected operating system files and folders

    The path is C:\windows\system32

  6. Best advice: Just don't touch it.
