How to establish a wireless network properly? i'm having trouble with a unit with a wireless adapter,?

it cant connect to the wireless router.. what should i do?

  1. does it say you need a password ? does your comp see the router? is your card properly set up ?


  2. really need more information   but I will try to give some solutions....is your router set-up with a security password,  if so you need to use that to get your unit hooked up. are the adapter and the wireless compatible? does your wireless unit see the signal? these are the things you needs to check. I have set-up my wireless computers using a flash drive to convey the info from the base unit to the satellite units. good luck

  3. Do you have other computers that are connected to the router?  (If so, you know the router's wireless is okay,)

    Does this computer "see" the router?  (Right-click the network icon in the system tray, next to the clock, and select "view wireless networks".)

    Does the router have encryption (such as "WEP" or "WPA") enabled?  If so, you'll need to enter the correct "key" on the computer in order for it to connect.
