How to extrapolate this LogK (0.99, 0.72, 0.58, -0.08, -0.30) LogP (4.5, 3.6, 2.7,1.5, ?) plot LogP vs. LogK?

for better understanding on the question please plot the values LogP vs. LogK..

LogK .................... LogP

0.99 ................... ..4.5

0.72 ..................... 3.6

0.58 ....................... 2.7

-0.08 ....................1.5

-0.30 ..................... ?

answer are said to be -3.2....

but i don't know how they solve it..

your help is really appreciated

  1. If you graph the values.  It looks like the correct answer should be somewhere around 0.5  .   Using the last two points to compute the extrapolated value I get

    (1.5-2.7)/(-.08-.58)*(-.3+.08) + 1.5 = 1.1


  2. I've plotted them in Excel, both as 2 individual plots and as an X-Y plot, neither one looked helpful.
