How to face my boss?

I just got fired for backing my bosses car into a post and denting the back. I didn't see the dent when I looked so I didn't tell him when it happened. He caught it later and then he fired me. How should I face him on Monday when I go get my check. It is a small company so I can't avoid him.

Just face him.  If he wants to give you a lecture than he is an idiot.  What's done is done.  I am sure that if he says anything at all it will last 30 seconds.  Just say look, I am sorry.  My bad. Grab your check and leave.  Nothing more you can do at this point.  No need to stand there and get the 3rd degree.

Apologize for it and just explain that everyone makes mistakes. If your boss didn't want anything to happen to his care he shouldn't be letting anyone drive it.
