Question:

How to fall asleep?!?

The school year is starting in about a week for me, and I'm going to have to wake up at 5:30 (School starts at 8, but I take my dog on an hour long walk before I get ready, and then that leaves me just over an hour to get ready and eat breakfast.) I've developed a horrible habit of going to bed at about midnight and getting up at about 9-9:30 over the summer. If I'm going to be waking up at 5:30 every morning, then I have to get to bed at 9-10:00 every night! I don't know if I can do that.

So my question is, what makes you tired? No sleeping pill recommendations, please. Any foods, music, TV shows, ANYTHING!!

  1. Hmm, I try watching something as boring as possible. (I don't know what you think is boring. >.<) I also m********e before I go to bed sometimes... sounds weird, but it makes me really tired. Also - Warm milk heated for 45 seconds to 1min on a high microwave works. Anything calming to you may work aswell. Goodluck. :)


  2. My friend also had trouble falling asleep and our art teacher said that listening to a book on tape or on a CD was good. Using earphones might be a good idea so you do not disturb anyone.  Chamomile tea is also supposed to be relaxing.


  3. warm(or cold) milk, hot shower, read before bed, and if you still can't sleep then lie on your stomach or back and try to relax every muscle in your body starting from your toes up to your head. after waking up at 5:30, walking for an hour, and going to school, im sure you will be exhausted. good luck (:

  4. try to keep your self busy every day so you can be tired at night..

    at the end of your day you should start watching Jay Leno Or Connan... that makes me fall asleep quick even though it might be a little too late..=\

    But it works for me so i can wake up at 8am LOL


  5. i watch really boring tv like televangelist (church services) or i read my horribly dry research methods textbook... 5 minutes of that and im out like a light!!

    if i know i have to get to bed early and my mind is wide awake i will usually take a hot bath before bed and sip Sleepytime Tea in the tub and then go right from the tub to bed. i also turn a fan on so the white noise will help me sleep
