How to feed Craftsman weed wacker?

Is it automatic? My last one you had to bump the head on the ground. I don't think this one is like that though because it doesn't have a spring. I don't have the owners manual it was given to me second hand.

I'm not clear what you mean?  Do you mean how do you get the plastic string to come out of the hole?  I just push the cage that the thread is in down and then pull the plastic thread out to the length I want.

As far as loading the "cage" (round container) with a new roll of thread/string, I push down on it and twist it to unlock it, and then pop it off.  If you dont keep it clean, it can get stuck & will take a lot of effort to remove.

I've never bumped the head on the ground. You can always take it back to a Sears and ask the salesmen. It's a guaranteed product.
