Question:

How to feed a frog that won't eat?

I'm pet sitting for a frog. From what I'm told, he was put outside (in the 100 degree weather) a few days ago, and now he won't eat. Any suggestions on what I can do? He's back inside with a fan blowing on him so he should be cool. He gets fed pellets from a spoon, but won't even touch them...

Also, any ideas on when he will die if he doesn't eat?

  1. Take the fan off of him. Frogs are used to humid and warm weather, let alone they are cold blooded animals. Put some pellets by him, and put him in a warm area.

  2. We feed our frog little pellet food. He prob won't live long if he is not eating. They are cold blooded so the heat could have harmed him. We drop his food in the water and it floats down in front of him and he eats it.

  3. Maybe he just needs something really tasty to get his appetite back.  Try feeding him an earthworm.

  4. I recommend the live crickets the pellets don't seem to be helping. The fan should not help. The temperature needs to be at least 70-85 degrees and make sure the humidity is at 85% this can be achieved through misting the tank with warm water daily. I hope this helps!

  5. give him a live food like a cricket that will get him going go to the pet store and buy the baby/ small crickets not the tiny ones and put them in his cage he will eat them!!
