I do kickboxing and i find it quite easy fighting orthodox fighters but i always struggle sparring against the two southpaws at my club despite me being a better boxer as it feels sort of weird. I know you can hit them with a straight right but as it is sparring it probably wouldnt go down to well and i wouldnt want to do that as ones a really nice man but the other one is a bit of a **** and i wudnt mind making him look stupid! Any tips about footwork and which way to circle etc would be helpful and how to counter his front right hook. O yeah and also im more of an out fighter aswell. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks x

  1. Keep your left foot outside his right foot and you do not have to circle in one direction all of the time. Just do not let him circle to his right so that his left is a shorter distance than your right.

Look at his jab and you can throw your jab so that you deflect his right jab with our forearm and hit him with your jab.

A good left hook works well because his right hand is going to be farther away from his face than a right handed fighter.

If you are in the correct position so that your right is shorter than his left any time he throws the left, counter with your straight right, you will get there first.

It is common to step on each other's front foot, and you might "accidentally" step on his right foot with your left foot when throwing a hook. Not that you would do that on purpose.

  2. JAB JAB JAB keep him at bay

  3. i dunno
