I am wanting to purchase a house that is around $40,000 with 8 acres of land in ohio. Can someone give me an estimate on what the property taxes would be?

  1. It depends on what town, city, or county tax bureau it falls under. They all have their own different rates.

  2. No, but you can go to the appraisal district website for your county and see EXACTLY what the taxes were for the previous year.  That should give you a pretty good idea.

  3. No, but you can go to the county court house where the property is located and ask at the county assessors office - they will be able to help you buy telling you the taxes for the previous year and what they are for the current year. You can also ask the present owners what the taxes were for 2007 and 2008. Property taxes vary from state to state and county to county.
