Question:

How to fill end of concrete driveway?

My concrete driveway is higher than the road. The rounded part at the end where you begin to enter your concretre driveway at is steep and causes cars to scratch the underneath of the vehicle. What kind of concrete should I use to put on top of the existing concrete on the end and when I pour it, what do I use to hold the concrete in place. I'm talking between the road and the beginning of the concrete driveway...where there is a dip to get up on the driveway to park. Thanks.

  1. Sorry to tell you there is nothing that you could put on that will stay!

What you can do is take out a couple of feet of your drive and change the angle.

You could possible put an asphalt topping on the concrete but how long it would stay is questionable?

It sounds like you could raise the part at the street  to get rid of the sharp angle? Hope you solve your problem!!!

  2. Consider checking your local building/maintenance codes.  Where I live in SE Minnesota, you cannot do anything to the driveway from the street to the sidewalk without city permission and/or building/repairing/replacing to city specifications.  Pouring a small amount of concrete won't do the job as it will fracture, break away and soon be money wasted.
