contact your local ymca as they do allow people to work off their community service.  at least they do in my area.

Do you play an instrument?  Try volunteering at your elementary school in the music department.  You can mentor kids and assist your band director.  My oldest son did that and helped out with after school Jazz Band for 6th graders while he was in 11 and 12th grades.
