How to film television?

how do people take a camera and film a T.V. perfectly. I heard their is a cord to put in your TV put what is it and its name

they use a TV tuner card in the computer.  i am not sure you can do this in the UK where televisions are licensed, but no problem in the USA. The computer can then record TiVo style.

They don't film TV perfectly and there's no such cord.  If you want to record TV broadcasts you'll need a VCR or a DVD / HD recorder.
