  1. open a glory hole. you will make lots of cash quick!

  2. you can apply for job when you're on social visit, once you get the job from the company that is willing to sponsor your work visa (either work permit or employment pass), then the company should apply the work permit or employment pass for you, approval can be within few days once submitted, and you can start working as soon as approval is obtained.

Now, the problem is, how do you know which company is willing to sponsor you for the work permit or EP? Not so easy as almost all of the job vacancy doesn't indicate whether the job is open for foreigner.

I saw that gap, so we created a job site that indicates whether the vacancy is open to foreigner, it's a small site though, as it's just started. Good news is, there are many jobs unadvertised elsewhere, as i provide job vacancy posting free.

You can take a look if you want: http://www.job-q.com

  3. i presume you are looking for job in the hospitality industry.

i suggest you start to write in Now, to all the major hotels and restaurants in singapore, attention to the HR department. Same time let them know that you will be making a trip to singapore in august so interview is possible. Try to write in to more hotels and restaurants when you are here, and arrange for as many interviews as you can during your stay.

same time, since you have worked in singapore during your OJT, it is advisable for you to write in or contact the restaurant/hotel or the manager you used to work for, let them know you are keen to come to singapore and work permanently, and check if they are keen to employ you. if they have no vacancy, ask if they have friends working in other hotels/restaurants who have job openings.

remember to bring the original/true copies of your qualifications for your potential employers to verify.

once an organisation inform you they want to employ you, they will usually let you sign a letter of appointment, take your travel document/passport and original copy of your qualifications to ministry of manpower (mom) for application of work permit/S-pass/employment pass. after that, all you do is wait. (you don't have to worry too much about which category you will be in, just leave it to the company to settle. important thing is to get a job here 1st.)

after they submit the application, it is possible that they will apply for a temporary permit or extend your stay/visa in singapore while you wait for the result of the application.

    Good luck to you. :)

  4. You can find work while you are on a social visit. Once you get here, look for a job. You will be allowed to stay 90 days if they (immigration) grant you this visa. Once you are employed, the company should advise you how to get your work permit.

I advise you to look for interviews from now on so you don't have to waste time in looking while you're here.

    Good Luck!
