My mother put all fo her children up for adoption a long time ago. My brother and I stayed together, but the other two were separated from each other and from us. How can I find them if they are not of legal age? Do I have any rights?

  1. I think you may have to wait until they are of age to legally search for them.  I hope you find them.

  2. Your rights vary depending on the state you are or were adopted in.  Find your state laws here: www.adopteerights.net and click on searchers. Then click on your state.

Some states  honor sibling rights and allow you guys to get non identifying information on each other. There are also registries to sign up with through the states. There is also www.isrr.net that is definately a registry you want to join up with.

Do you know your mom? it sounds like you maybe do? if so theres alot SHE CAN DO. Actually, YOU as a sibling can also put a waiver to release your identifying information into your siblings adoption files should they come looking for their family. DO THIS if you can.
