There are lots of agencies! The big ones are WWF, Conservation International (CI), Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). There are also Whitley Fund for Nature, National Geographic, Rufford-Maurice Laing Foundation. Large zoos also gives funding sometimes.

If you already have a proposal, you can be more specific as to what agencies to submit your proposals to. If you want to work on global warming, for example, find agencies that focus on that. If you want to focus only on birds, there are international agencies that focus on birds, like BirdLife International. Other foundations dont give money, but instead give equipments or volunteers (the names escape me right now, sorry)

Some non-environmental agencies also gives funding for environmental studies. i was lucky enough to take part in an amphibian project funded by British Petroleum (BP) environment program.

One thing that you can do is search online for studies or programs similar to what u want to do, and then check the logos of the donors to give you some ideas. Also, there are lots of kinds of funding, for young scientists, for post-grad students, for baseline studies, for advanced studies, etc. And if your programs fits with the donor's own program, there's a greater chance of you being accepted (although sometimes you dont always get what you ask for).

There is lot of funding agencies for aiding environmental protection programs. For any funding agency you must convince them with a project proposal , the describing you plan , way of working purpose. After submitting the proposal agencies will decide depending on the genuvinity.
