How to find and apply for grants for use in robotic research.?

Question

Me and a friend are very much into robotics, and have a million different practical ideas/designs for robots that we could design, research, build and test. We are part of the robotics team at our high school but it’s not the same because we have to design robots for specific task.

Were just looking for some money that we could use to buy parts (motors, electronic boards, pumps, cylinders, metal, wheels, and batteries) anything we might need to build the robots we have designed and researched.

So if anyone knows how to apply for grants or knows how to find some please let me know, or if you can think of a company that may sponsor use in our research we would be more then glad to contact them.
