  1. you weigh it and you calculate it's volume, and divide the two.

    For example, weigh a cylindrical shaped water glass. Fill it with the liquid, weigh it again.  Subtract to get the weight. Calculate the volume from the diameter and length of the cylinder.

  2. find out what the liquid is by shinning a spectrum of light through it, the you can look up the density of it
