Question:

How to find foster parents for dog?

I have no where to look.

Does anybody know how I can find a list or something? I've tried looking online and we've called a few shelters. I'm at a loss.

I live north of Dallas, in Texas, if that makes a difference.

  1. If you cant find a home...take it to the shelter, from there the dog will end up in a foster home if needed

ADD: the shelter will find a foster parent that is suited with the dog...dont worry, she will have a great home!!

I have fostered dogs for 10 years now...Its ok, don't let the dog become the problem

  2.     If the dog is a purebred a purebred rescue might take it and find it a new home.

  3. find som1 that wants a dog like and let them foster it while u do whatever u want.but if u adopted the dog u shouldv been prepared to care for it

  4. Um, Try your local vet. They sometimes take in animals to find them new home. Otherwise, Your local Animal rescue centre !

  5. So...pretty much you friend wants somebody to take care of the dog for free...and you'll just call them a foster parent...but you don't want the dog adopted by anybody else?

Not sure you're going to convince anybody to go along with that plan, sorry.

  6. Have you tried putting up notices in your local shops and (as was already suggested) at the vet's? Doesn't your town have a community website where you could post a free notice? What about local schools, bus shelters, put a sign on your gate even! Email all your contacts in your address book, send a text message to everyone on your mobile phone - someone might know someone else who could help? Maybe you've tried some of these ideas already and if there's no other option then it would have to be your local rescue centre I guess :( Hope you get sorted out.
