How to find heritage

I am British. Me, my sister and my dad have always been commented upon as having oriental features (especially my sister) - I was wondering whether we are not just white. Is there any good site on the internet where I can search my ancestry?

go into yahoo groups and search through the genealogy and find a group. Post your surname and your mothers maiden name, somebody may have an answer for you.

I am also looking for the same thing, I need one free because I am nit that desperate to pay for one, but give us a last name and some people can tell by the last name where the last name originated so at least you would know part of you or whomever.
