  1. Just remember the key word in longitude- long- they run from north to south. Think of the latitude lines as a latter running parallel to eachother- east to west.

Hope I helped and good luck!

  2. When I was at Naval School ws taught this ditty: Lat is flat and Londitude is long!

  3. Locate the 'North' pointer. If it is on top (usually is) then, all lines top to bottom, aligned N-S are longitudes. they are also characterised by tle letter 'E' or 'W'.

The lines running across left and right are the latitudes that have the letter 'N' or 'S' associated.

  4. lines of latitude run from 0 degrees at the equator to 90 degrees north latitude at the north pole and 90 deg south latitude at the south pole. Lines of latitude are parallel to the equator.

longitudinal lines run from 0 degrees east or west from Grenwich England to the international date line.

On a globe or map, the lines are usually noted, but the best you can do is approximate, since degrees are further divided into minutes and seconds for precision.
